OUR HISTORY
In the spring of 1997, we were contacted by Old Colonial Williamsburg to help solve a problem. The pathways at this venerable site consisted of loose pea gravel. They were attractive and upheld the historical theme. However, the American Disabilities Act mandated that the pathways be wheelchair friendly. Our chemists modified one of our existing, below grade, soil stabilizers for a topical application. Installers applied the new formula to the loose gravel and voila!… a stable, ADA compliant, permeable pathway was born. Williamsburg’s pathways retained their natural look and wheelchairs rolled smoothly over them. Since that first job almost three decades ago, Klingstone Paths has been applied to many more historical sites as well as college campuses, museums, hospitals and thousands of residential pathways across America and around the world.
